April 2011
The Rangers held our first match of the season on
Saturday, April 23rd.
Although it has been snowing and raining and cold in Craig for most of
April, the weather gods smiled on our efforts by being cloudy and reasonably
warm. I B Oneeye came over from Ft.
Collins and brought three shooting tables for us to be used instead of straw
bales. They are just the right height,
very sturdily built and topped with astro turf.
Thanks John. We had two new
shooters join us – each of them for their first SASS match. Welcome Jumping John and Big Horn By. We hope you’ll be able to join us for the
rest of our matches.
We had a total of fourteen shooters for four stages;
starting at 9AM, setting up, shooting, and tearing down; and we finished before
the weather changed. Stages were simple
and straight-forward with enough variety and movement to be interesting and
fun.
Next month (May) is our annual match “Where the Old
West Stayed Young” and we’re looking forward to seeing a lot of our friends
from all over Colorado and Wyoming and making new friends from wherever they
call home. Our regular monthly schedule
will resume in June on the fourth Saturday (June 25th) and continue
through September.
